This is an example of INCORRECT tarping under your tent. The tarp underneath your tent (in case yours didn’t come with its own footprint) should be the same size or slightly smaller than your tent, otherwise, if it rains, water will just flow right under your tent, and could leak inside.

good catch! I didn’t even notice the tarp.. it just looked like the corners of the tent to me!

The groundsheet under the coleman tent is a drainage/root barrier-mat. It`s in deed a bit large but the water draines...
